VivaTech 2023: The Must-Attend Event for Technological Innovation

From June 14th to 17th, 2023, Paris will host the highly anticipated edition of VivaTech, the professional trade fair dedicated to technological innovation and startups. Organized at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, this event will bring together over 2,500 exhibitors from more than 146 countries. With nearly 600 startups in attendance, VivaTech 2023 promises to be an exceptional gathering open to the general public on its last day.

This edition will feature the participation of major companies such as LVMH, L’Oréal, Amazon, Alibaba, La Poste, as well as technology giants like Meta (Facebook), Google, Microsoft, and Huawei. These key players will present their innovations and support promising startups in dedicated pavilions.

The organizers of VivaTech highlight several major themes for this edition. Artificial intelligence will occupy a central place in a market estimated at $500 billion. Energy and climate tech innovations will also be showcased in response to international environmental challenges. Inclusion and diversity in the professional world will also be important topics, with the creation of a dedicated “FemTech” village focused on women’s health.

In anticipation of the 2024 Olympic Games, VivaTech is partnering with the Global Sports Week international sports ecosystem forum to create a space dedicated to innovations in the field of sports. Thus, the trade fair will expand beyond Hall 1 of Porte de Versailles to also occupy Hall 2 this year.

VivaTech is not limited to the exhibition of technological innovations but also offers a platform for conferences and exchanges among leaders of major companies. Renowned personalities such as Bernard Arnault (LVMH), Nicolas Hieronimus (L’Oréal), J. Michael Evans (Alibaba Group), Nathalie Collin (La Poste), and others will speak at this event. Recognized experts such as Yann LeCun (Meta) will also share their expertise in artificial intelligence.

VivaTech is co-organized by Les Echos-Le Parisien (LVMH Group) and Publicis. The 2022 edition attracted 91,000 physical visitors with 300,000 online visits, demonstrating the growing interest in this event.

This year, VivaTech addresses European concerns regarding new technologies. Artificial intelligence holds a significant place in the program, with 18% of the attending startups dedicated to it. The event will showcase over 300 innovations, including some exclusive ones, and will host over 450 international speakers. Bob Metcalfe, the inventor of Ethernet and the recipient of the 2022 Turing Award, as well as Yann LeCun, Chief AI Scientist at Meta, will be among the speakers.
